MODERN AGE disillusionment The Modern Age was a time of disillusionment. People started questioning oldfashioned beliefs and values. Then, World War I happened, and everything changed. The war made people lose faith in progress and science. Some soldiers came back feeling lost or guilty. The 1920s were only good for the rich. People felt uncertain about everything. Even science and religion couldnt give comfort anymore. This led to Modernism, where people wanted to show how society was falling apart and the messiness of city life. They aimed to break away from old traditions and reflect the modern world, full of new technology and social changes. They focused on simplicity, functionality, and the use of new materials and techniques.
